London Coffee Festival 2023

Last weekend I was lucky enough to have attended the London Coffee Festival as an exhibitor helping out on a stand for a business I did an internship with last year. The festival took place at Old Truman’s Brewery in Brick Lane and is essentially a festival dedicated to coffee, so if you’re a coffee lover it would be your paradise! Although dedicated to coffee, there were plenty of tea, chocolate, and other food stalls to visit. Although I didn’t have a lot of time to explore I thought I’d share with you some of my favourite businesses that were at the festival this year and give you a flavour of what the festival was like - spoiler alert I will definitely be going back next year!

Pri Bakes:

I couldn’t write this post without mentioning the business I was helping out with. Pri Bakes is the ‘healthy, happy, bakery’, reinventing the bakery scene, making it healthy, all whilst tasting delicious at the same time! They have 2 ranges: Oaty pies (cashew, peanut butter, pecan and chocolate) and pockets (hazelnut, raspberry and cinnamon) that are all vegan, gluten-free and made with 5 clean label ingredients so you know exactly what’s in the product. As well as being healthier for you than your standard chocolate bar, they’re HFSS compliant (let me know if you would like a post about this new(ish) regulation!). My favourite product is definitely the peanut butter pie as I’m a massive peanut butter lover! They’re such a versatile product; you can have it on the go, as a snack, or put it in your porridge or smoothie bowl to give yourself an indulgent breakfast!

Perfect Ted:

If you haven’t heard of Perfect Ted yet, you have now and I think you’ll be hearing a lot more about them in the future (they’ve recently featured on Dragons Den)! Perfect Ted sells matcha green tea which provides a source of energy and contains the same amount of caffeine as a coffee or your regular energy drink without making you feel anxious. It’s also a superfood, rich in amino acids and antioxidants. They sell matcha drinks in a variety of flavours and have also launched a collaboration with Joe & the Juice.  I love what they’re doing and their social media presence is one to look out for.

Oatly:

Oatly is a plant-based oat milk brand that is probably most well known for its marketing campaigns. Oatly does my favourite barista oat milk for making an at-home latte as the milk froths really well and is so creamy in texture! It’s originally a Swedish company but has taken the world by storm.

Origin Coffee:

I couldn’t finish this post talking about a coffee festival without mentioning a coffee brand! Origin was founded in 2004 and is focused on sourcing coffee sustainably. Since 2004 it has grown and now has coffee shops in Cornwall and London, as well as being able to purchase their coffee online. They have a huge range of coffee with different tasting notes from chocolate, orange sherbet, and caramel, to nectarine and peach!

The London Coffee Festival was a great day out and is certainly a festival to add to your list to visit in the future. It’s great walking around and discovering new businesses as well as the well-established brands that everyone recognises.
